Food additives refer to artificially synthesized or natural substances added to food to improve its variety, color, aroma, and taste, as well as to meet the needs of processing techniques such as preservation and preservation. Sweeteners

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Hygienic Standards for the Use of Food Additives", sweeteners include natural sweeteners and artificially synthesized sweeteners. Among them, 15 are synthetic sweeteners, such as saccharin sodium, asparagine phenylalanine methyl ester (sweetener), potassium acetylsulfamate (acesulfame), alitame, and sodium cyclohexylamine

At present, the main methods for detecting sweeteners include gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, ion chromatography, ultraviolet spectrophotometry, thin layer chromatography, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Colorants

Colorants generally include two types: natural pigments and synthetic pigments, among which synthetic pigments mainly include amaranth, carmine, lemon yellow, sunset yellow, indigo, allure red, etc

At present, China mainly uses high-performance liquid chromatography for the detection of artificially synthesized pigments, with high sensitivity and accuracy. According to the provisions of GB/T 5009.35-2003 "Determination of Synthetic Colorants in Food", liquid chromatography can be used to determine artificial synthetic pigments. In addition, methods such as paper chromatography, oscillopolarography, high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and reagent kit can also be used to detect the content of artificially synthesized pigments
