Sorbitol, also known as sorbitol, is also known as Sorbitol, D-Glucitol, Sorbol, D-Sorbitol in English. The molecular formula is C6H14O6, which is the main photosynthetic product of plants in the Rosaceae family. It is a white hygroscopic powder or crystalline powder, flake or particle, odorless. Depending on the crystallization conditions, the melting point varies between 88~102 ℃ and the relative density is about 1.49. Easily soluble in water (1g soluble in approximately 0.45mL of water), slightly soluble in ethanol and acetic acid. It has a refreshing and sweet taste, with a sweetness of about half that of sucrose, and a calorific value similar to sucrose. It will not cause dental caries when used as a sweetener. In the food industry, sorbitol solution with a content of 69-71% is commonly used. Toxicity tests have shown that excessive oral administration can cause diarrhea and digestive disorders
