Currently, the GB 19112-2003 standard, which is made from the NY/T 122-1989 (current domestic) standard "Rice Bran" (containing about 18% oil and composed of rice husks, dust, microorganisms and secretions, pericarp, seed coat, endosperm, aleurone layer, embryo, etc.), can be used for edible "Rice Bran Oil". Due to the fact that this standard rice bran oil is rarely used for consumption, it is mostly used for manufacturing industrial raw materials such as feed, soap, hardened oil, glycerol, stearic acid, oleic acid, paint resin, etc. With the increasing attention paid to the safety of edible oils, a national standard seminar on "Rice Bran Oil" was held in Hefei, Anhui on July 3, 2013, sponsored by the Oil and Oil Technology Working Group of the National Grain and Oil Standardization Committee. The team leader and professor He Dongping from Wuhan Light Industry University stated that the new national standard for "Rice Bran Oil" will be drafted in the second half of this year, submitted for approval and approval in the first half of next year, and is expected to be issued in the second half of next year. Nowadays, developed countries such as the United States have already introduced edible rice bran, and similar products have been invented in China, which use modern food processing precision milling technology to accurately grind and separate the non edible substances (rice husk, fruit peel, seed coat, dust, microorganisms, etc.) in rice bran from the beneficial nutrients (outer endosperm such as embryo and paste layer) in clean production workshops, This separation technology can classify rice bran into two parts: feed grade rice bran and food grade rice bran. Food grade rice bran accounts for about 80% of the total weight of rice bran and more than 90% of the nutrition. Because food grade rice bran, although only accounting for 6% of the weight of rice and about 60% of the nutrition of rice, is the crushed material during the rice whitening process, it is also known as "rice essence" or "rice meal". In the future, rice bran oil will also be divided into two types: edible oil and industrial raw material oil. The new generation of edible "rice bran oil" will be made from pure rice germ and aleurone layer obtained by precise milling of rice, also known as "rice meal oil" or "rice oil". The rice bran oil made from real rice bran (the protective layer of rice: fruit peel, seed coat, endosperm, rice husk, etc.) will only be an industrial raw material
