Milk and dairy products - Food testing for infants and young children

This standard specifies three methods for the determination of melamine in raw milk, dairy products, and dairy products, namely high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (HPLC), liquid chromatography mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), and gas chromatography mass spectrometry [including gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS)]. This standard is applicable to the quantitative determination of melamine in raw milk, dairy products, and dairy products; liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry) is also applicable to the qualitative confirmation of melamine in raw milk, dairy products, and dairy products. The quantitative limit of this standard is 2 mg/kg for high-performance liquid chromatography, 0.01 mg/kg for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and 0.05 mg/kg for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (with a quantitative limit of 0.005 mg/kg for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry). 2 Normative References: The clauses in the following documents become clauses of this standard through reference in this standard.
